Trap Shooting Secrets: What They Won't Tell You, This Book WillJames Russell
Taschenbuch
Like his other volume, < I> Precision Shooting, James Russell's < I> Trap Shooting Secrets is thick with tips, advice, techniques, and practice drills for anyone intent on improving his or her skills in a highly refined, complex, and technically demanding sport. Russell begins with a primer on buying the right shotgun, and builds from there on the essentials of basic shooting and a whole gamut of typical beginner's mistakes before moving on to more advanced targets like the psychology of competitive shooting, developing deeper concentration skills, and strategies for how to write off some of the high costs of trap shooting as a tax deduction. As informative as the volume is, it loses some points on style: pages crammed with text will likely glaze over your shooting eye, and its diagrams and illustrations, useful as they are, are relegated to the book's butt end as if appended as an afterthought. < I>-Jeff Silverman
